My name is John Calhoun. I am originally from Chester, PA and I now reside in Pittsburgh, PA on my way to relocate to Charlotte, NC.

I am the oldest of 4. I grew up in a single parent home raised most of my life in a studio style apartment with my other siblings. My mother partitioned the apartment in a way so the boys had one side and the girls had the other. We were poor growing up, but my mom done everything she could to make sure we had food on the table and a roof over our heads.
We never knew what it was like to have wealth of any kind. We struggled all of my childhood years, but we got through. It shaped me into the man I am today. I wouldn’t exchange it for anything in the world. My mother was taught traditionally by her grandparents to go to school, get good grades and get a great job. She done that and it ended up landing her to be blacklisted by a manager who did not like her for whatever reason. After that, it was hard for her to get another good paying job settling for mediocre jobs and welfare to pay the bills.

I started down the same path as my mom, graduating with honors from High school and going on to attend college at Drexel University in Philadelphia, PA. I loved working on computers and thought it would land me a successful career as a computer engineer. I worked very hard my first semester at school and found myself at an internship that first year at the 3rd largest insurance company (at that time) in the nation. I worked in their IT department (3rd level support).

I found my college years come to a short stop as for one I quickly ran out of money (only had partial scholarship) and two I realized that school was not for me. I hated what I was learning and where it was leading me. I spoke with a counselor who thought maybe I was in the wrong major. So following his advice I changed it from Computer Engineering to Information Systems Management. My 2nd year in school was in this new major.
As a sophomore I qualified for the internship program. The internship was only to be 6 months, then go back to school for 6 months. After working with this insurance company and working for 6 months, I didn’t go back to school and stayed at the insurance company working. I figured I wasn’t getting what I wanted from school anyway so I would get a jump start on my professional career. I worked very hard at the insurance company and ended up staying there for 1 and half years as an intern. I was due to be hired as a full-time employee and got picked over by another intern that came 6 months after me. I had to train this person to do the job I was already doing. By this time, I had a schedule and project list as the full-time employees, but I was an intern. I left there and bounced around for a bit taking several jobs in the computer field. Which led to a few more lay-off’s.

I did not grow up with a silver spoon in my mouth, nothing close to it. Fast forward to today, I have no children and successful businesses, including a traditional and non-traditional business. I am on my way to living the life most people dream of. I have learned through reading many books, listening to personal development CDs, attending training’s and seminars. However, most of my learning has come through the experiences of the countless number of failures. I have tried and failed at many things.

I have a wonderful business partner, leader, and most importantly best friend, Leah. Together, we have created the Inet Entrepreneurs Network and are teaching people the way to financial freedom through network marketing. We leverage part of our network marketing business through social media marketing.

I work extremely hard for the reason of being able to one day retire my mother, who have given so much to me. And to one day have my children live a lifestyle I could not when I grew up. My ultimate goal is to leave a legacy for my children’s children. It’s the reason I get up every morning and push forward. It’s the reason I push forward when I fall on my face. It’s the reason I push forward through rejection and obstacles that come my way all the time.

I am grateful for the many blessings I have, the many blessings that God has to come, and most of the all the friends and family that I have in my life. I am also so grateful for my health and vitality, being able to wake up each and every morning, given the chance to achieve something great. Success is a journey. A journey filled with much pain, failure, defeat, and heartache. However a journey once through the other side is filled with much happiness, success, joy, and love. I look forward to continuing this journey and the many friends I will meet along the way.
